(a bit of a late post!!)
As part of the St Magnus Festival 40 years celebrations a project to exhibit
the artworks of 40 artists took place in venues across Stromness and Kirkwall .
A variety of works were on show and could be found in gallery spaces, shop windows
and festival locations as well as the Festival programme book.
Here are a few examples that could be seen!

'Elemental Conversations' was an exhibition featuring two artists Katherine Diaper and Fiona Sanderson that recorded the Orkney shorelines in paint and metal.
Although these artists work in very different medium, the pieces sat beautifully together
that both enhanced and complimented one another.
Katherine Diaper 'Ever-restless Wave 1' , acrylic
Fiona Sanderson 'Pierced form with 3 inclusions' , aluminium&glass
Katherine Daiper 'Geo-Yesnaby' , acrylic
Fiona Sanderson 'Copper&glass form'
'Aurora Shoals' , oil on board
Norna Sinclair
With so many artists participating it was impossible to include them all but I hope that this will become a permanent feature of the St Magnus festival calendar!
