Creative Practice 4

That`s the end of another year for me with the completion of Creative Practice 4!
This semester I`ve been working with steel, concrete and collograph to create more
family inspired sculptures.

Artist Statement

My current work explores the concept of communication through time
and in particular how elements of our past can be deciphered
in the future by information embodied within objects.
Influenced by Orkney`s Neolithic heritage and the methods employed
by archaeologists to interpret meaning from its material culture.
These contemporary works reveal conversations which resonate with the
 ancient monuments and their inscriptions.
My artworks, inspired by modern constructions in the landscape incorporate
personal data which create connections between the past and present, with a
future narrative to be discovered. They will become a historical account of my
family, myself and of course my art practice in 2017.
